WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE?

Chapter 1

After Sunny learns how serious her congenital heart defect is, she runs away to avoid telling her parents the news. She meets a group of graffiti taggers her age, and, together, they break into a village store at night.
 

The reckless burglary goes completely off the rails when the store owner suddenly appears and gets knocked out by the leader of the group.
 

While the others run away, Sunny stays behind to help the injured man and is startled by the arriving police, who she narrowly avoids by hiding in a rusty pickup truck.
 

It turns out that the car serves as a sleeping place for an old, bitter hippie called Pit. Seeing the approaching officers, Pit panics and flees, with Sunny still in the car.
 

In the commotion, Sunny has a panic attack and faints.

Chapter 2

Sunny wakes up the next morning at a gas station, still in the hippie's car. Disoriented, she gets out to talk to Pit about what happened last night. An argument quickly breaks out between the two.
 

Their heated discussion abruptly ends, when the pickup gets towed away. Sunny, who realizes that her medication is still in the pickup truck, is now forced to work with Pit to get it back...
